Terms of Use
These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Puzzle Planet (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Site.
1. The Service
Puzzle Planet provides free browser-based card and puzzle games, together with written guides about those games. The Site is provided at no charge and is supported by advertising. No account or registration is required to play.
We may add, change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site at any time without notice. We may also impose limits on certain features or restrict access to parts of the Site without liability.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its servers, or any related systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site, including by introducing malware, launching denial-of-service attacks, or overloading our infrastructure
- Use automated systems such as bots or scrapers to access the Site in a way that sends more requests than a human could reasonably produce
- Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell or otherwise exploit any portion of the Site for commercial purposes without our express written permission
- Remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or other proprietary notices
- Circumvent, disable or interfere with advertising displayed on the Site
3. Intellectual Property
The Site's design, source code, graphics, written guides and other original content are owned by Puzzle Planet and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may view and use the Site for personal, non-commercial enjoyment. You may not redistribute, republish or create derivative works from our content without permission.
The underlying rules of the games themselves — Klondike solitaire, chess, sudoku, mahjong solitaire and the rest — are in the public domain and are not claimed as our property. Our implementations of them are.
4. Game Data and Progress
Your game progress, statistics, achievements and preferences are stored locally in your own browser, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not maintain server-side copies of this data.
This means we cannot restore your progress if it is lost. Clearing your browser data, using private browsing mode, switching browsers or devices, or certain browser storage-management behaviours will erase it. You accept this risk in exchange for being able to play without an account.
5. No Real-Money Gambling
The Site includes a poker practice trainer. This feature uses play money only. No real currency is wagered, no prizes of monetary value are offered, and no winnings can be withdrawn or exchanged for anything of value. The trainer is provided for education and practice. Nothing on this Site constitutes gambling, nor an inducement or advice to gamble.
6. Advertising and Third-Party Content
The Site displays advertising served by Google AdSense and may contain links to third-party websites. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, products, services or privacy practices of advertisers or linked sites. Your dealings with any third party found through the Site are solely between you and that third party.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components, or that any defects will be corrected.
Written guides on this Site are provided for general informational purposes. While we aim for accuracy, we make no warranty that any strategy, technique or statement is complete, current or correct.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Puzzle Planet and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Site.
Because the Site is provided free of charge, our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these terms or the Site shall not exceed one hundred United States dollars (USD $100).
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or the limitation of liability for certain damages. In such jurisdictions, our liability is limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Puzzle Planet and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site or your violation of these terms.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms of Use at any time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
